Welcome
Chelsea and Matt met while he was a senior in high school. Even though they both liked each other, Chelsea didn’t want to get too attached, as she knew he would be leaving for college at the end of Summer. He pursued her anyway and their first date was to see “The Proposal.” Only days after that first date, the two became an item and have been together ever since. As Chelsea put it: “I literally fell head over heels with this guy after 2 weeks of dating him. He really is my best friend and he has changed my life so much for the better!” The two tied the knot this past Saturday with a Winter Wedding at The Springs in Georgetown.
Chelsea’s getting ready photos are a bit different than normal and I LOVE that about them! The bridal suite had a lot going on this afternoon, so Chelsea opted to have her mother and Matron of Honor help her get dressed outside. I’m SO GLAD Chelsea took this risk and trusted me enough to say “ok” to this crazy request! It was so worth it and really cleaned up her getting ready portraits while allowing the bridesmaids to continue to get ready.
Chelsea wore her grandmother’s ring, to keep her grandmother close to her heart on her wedding day, since Heaven is just a little too far away. This is when the tears started flowing.
After Chelsea’s mom put in her wedding veil, that perfectly matched her Maggie Sottero wedding gown, Chelsea was officially ready to have her first look with her dad, then step-dad.
Chelsea and Matt opted for a first look. It’s a great opportunity to get the nerves out and really take in the moment of the day with the one person it matters most with. It was also going to be our only chance to get romantic portraits with these two before the sun went down.
Just look at those smiles!
Matt and Chelsea had orginally planned for an outdoor winter wedding at The Springs in Georgetown, but the weather on Saturday had other plans for them. These two didn’t miss a beat and knew there were bigger things happening that day. Look how cute their last minute plan B indoor ceremony was!
After the newlyweds walked back down the aisle as man and wife (FINALLY – after 7.5 years of dating), Matt and Chelsea shared another kiss.
After being toasted by their Matron of Honor and Best Man, the wedding cake was cut. It had a cute cake topper that said “Mr. & Mrs. Woods” in navy.
Matt and Chelsea shared at least four kisses during their first dance. That just goes to show how happy they were to be husband and wife!
Chelsea’s wedding dress was seriously made for twirling!
Chelsea and Matt – thank you SO MUCH for inviting us to document your big day! We loved being there to celebrate with y’all as your 7.5 year relationship turned into marriage. We wish y’all the absolute best because y’all deserve it! You both have hearts of gold!
