I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
Lauren and Kyle both attended Tarleton State University. Since they were both athletes, they eventually met through mutual friends. The two dated for a little over two years, then Kyle decided it was time to propose to Lauren. He did so while they were on a family vacation in Hawaii. He even drew out a “game plan” for the family, so everyone would be in place when he got down on one knee in the sand. Lauren said yes and the two tied the knot this past Friday, one year after being engaged, in Boerne, Texas. It was a joy to be their CW Hill Country Ranch wedding photographer!
As I was setting up this ring shot, I was telling Kyle’s mom how the ring shots are the hardest to set up. On the first try, the rings did exactly what I was hoping for! Kyle’s mom said it was because Lauren and Kyle are the “perfect fit!” It was so sweet to hear their friends and family talk about the two of them in such a supporting and loving way!
Lauren’s bridesmaids prayed over her before the rest of the day ensued. Kyle said one of the things he loves most about Lauren is the fact that she puts GOD first in everything she does. This was evident even on their wedding day.
Lauren and Kyle opted to include a first look into their wedding day. It was a great opportunity to truly react to seeing one another on their wedding day and spend some quality time with the one person they really wanted to. Kyle was SO EXCITED to see Lauren, that he couldn’t wait a second longer and turned to see his beautiful bride before her dress was set. This was such a sweet moment! You could tell that they were truly excited to be there and celebrate the start of their marriage!
Lauren’s dad built the cord braiding piece that they used as their unity ceremony. Ecclesiastes 4:12 states “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” The cords were to represent each of them, Lauren and Kyle, and GOD, as all three are needed for a thriving marriage.
Kyle drove his grandfather’s pick-up as their getaway car!
Kyle and Lauren set up the reception barn of CW Hill Country Ranch with glass bottles and beautiful flowers. I adore the just-picked feel of their reception centerpieces!
Lauren had her grandparents’ wedding cake topper as her wedding cake topper. Her sweet grandmother painted the hair on the bride to match Lauren’s hair color. It was such a sweet detail and a legacy of love to include in their wedding! Kyle’s grandmother made him his favorite pies and included those on the dessert table of their lavender wedding at CW Hill Country Ranch. The toasting glasses Lauren and Kyle used were the same ones her parents used on their wedding day. All the sentimental details were the perfect touch!
Guests were invited to underline their favorite bible verse in the new family’s bible.
Lauren’s grandparents won the anniversary dance! This is where all the married couples at a wedding dance until the couple who has been married the longest is the last couple dancing. They looked so excited to win! Their words of wisdom to the newlyweds was to “say yes.”
One of Lauren’s sweet bridesmaids noticed that there were some extra sparklers left over, so we got the bridal party together for this surprise photo for the newlyweds! I love that their bridal party was willing to do anything for these two and supports them both so well!
Lauren and Kyle – thank you so much for inviting us in to document your purple and lavender wedding at CW Hill Country Ranch! We absolutely adored working with you both and seeing the love that y’all are surrounded with. That is such a blessing to your marriage to have a support group in all your family and friends!
