I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
Kirsten and Evan went to high school together. He always took the time to walk her across campus, but she didn’t realize that he was interested in more than just being her friend. The two went off to different colleges, but she missed his friendship and reached out to him on Facebook. The two met up in Waco and rekindled their friendship that eventually blossomed into dating. Soon after, both transferred schools to live closer to one another. Evan’s boss warned him not to move for a girl, but Evan knew there was something special about Kirsten and moved anyway. It was a good risk to take, as the two became husband and wife on Saturday at their Fall wedding at Lone Oak Barn in Round Rock, Texas.
Wrapped around Kirsten’s bridal bouquet was material from her grandmother and mother’s wedding dress with a piece of her own added, as well. Three generations of wedding dresses, representing long standing marriages, were wrapped around her bouquet as she married her best friend.
As her mother was helping Kirsten into her shoes, Kirsten realized there was a new addition sewn inside the hem of her gown. Her parents had added her “something blue” into the dress with their love. It was a sweet surprise!
Kirsten and Evan made sure that their families knew how much they were loved! I’m pretty sure everyone in their immediate families had their own handwritten note from the bride or groom. These two are so well loved and make sure that they show their love to others in abundance.
Kirsten’s mom prayed over her daughter and her new marriage before she left the bridal suite. Her bridesmaids laid hands on Kirsten and joined in lifting the newlyweds up in prayer. There wasn’t a dry eye when their heads were raised at the end. Kirsten even said that this would be one of her favorite memories from her wedding day!
Kirsten’s dad was invited up to the bridal suite of Lone Oak Barn to get the first look at the bride!
Kirsten and Evan’s Fall wedding at Lone Oak Barn was held outside. It was cloudy, so the weather was great! Their wedding colors were blush, burgundy, gray, and gold. It made for a beautiful combination on the front lawn of the venue. I love that they chose to say their forever vows at the foot of the cross. That is really telling as to who they want to put first in their marriage and that they want to put GOD first in every aspect.
Kirsten and her dad did a little switch-a-roo when they reached the last pew of the ceremony. One of them realized that they were on the wrong side for the hand off to Evan. It was a pretty cute dance they did and everyone present giggled with them.
The first kiss as husband and wife!!!
While we took portraits, guests were invited to cocktail hour, where yard games and queso awaited them. The Giant Jenga and Connect Four were hits!
Their blush and burgundy wedding reception was held inside Lone Oak Barn. Every guest had a cookie at their place setting as a “thank you for making the day so sweet!”
Kirsten’s parents are just the cutest! I’m not sure how many shots we have of the two of them hugging or sharing a sweet kiss like the one here. It must have been a great example growing up for their kiddos, as Kirsten gets the same sweetness from Evan.
Kirsten and Evan – thank you SO MUCH for inviting us to document your fall wedding at Lone Oak Barn! We loved every minute of it! You two are so well loved and that was extremely evident on your wedding day! Y’all have a great support system around you and that is such a blessing for your marriage! Congratulations!
