Before Joey ever met Whitney, his family already loved her.  She was friends with his sister, as the two went to church together.  His parents met Whitney and told her several times that she “had to meet” their son.  They knew the two would make a great duo and they were right!  During a trip to Houston for the Rodeo with his sister, Whitney met Joey.  Soon, Joey’s trips to San Antonio weren’t JUST to see his sister anymore, but were coordinated visits to spend time with Whitney.  The two officially became husband and wife last weekend and it was a honor to be their Boerne Texas wedding photography team!

Once Whitney was in her wedding dress, it was time for her first look with Joey!  They had originally wanted to keep this part of the day traditional, but opted for the first look to get the party started earlier.  When couples opt for a first look, they’re able to take their family photos and bridal party photos before the ceremony.  That allows them to enjoy their own cocktail hour or get dinner started early.  More than that, it allows couples to spend more time with the one person they want to on their wedding day: their soon-to-be spouse!  Joey said the first look helped him to be less nervous.  He and Whitney were able to spend a few minutes to themselves and hug on each other.

Whitney has the most genuine smile!!

I’m all about boots with bridesmaids dresses, so you know I loved this bridal party’s style! We also just adored working with this bridal party!  They were willing to help with just about anything and were so FUN to be around!

Whitney and Joey’s wedding ceremony took place at CW Hill Country Ranch in Boerne, Texas.

Again, Whitney has THE BEST smile!  She can’t help but radiate JOY!

After a quick hair change, we took a few minutes to take some “just married” portraits at sunset!  This is my favorite time of day for portraits!

Their mint green and petal pink wedding reception took place inside the barn at CW Hill Country Ranch in Boerne.

Those smiles!!  Whitney’s sister said in her toast that wherever these two go is guaranteed to be a fun time!  Joey’s sister later told me that the sentiment was 100% accurate!  If these two are present, it will be a joyful day and I believe it!  They just have a way of making you feel cared for!  For example, while they were on their honeymoon in Greece, they sent us a sweet note letting us know they were praying for us because there were some bombings happening in Austin (where we live).  I still can’t get over that!  They took time out of their HONEYMOON to pray for us, their wedding photographers!  WOW!  They truly have hearts of gold and I feel so blessed to be the ones they chose to invite to their special day with their loved ones!

Since they tied the knot on St. Patrick’s Day, there were some fun props on the dance floor!  Green hats, four leaf clover headbands, and Irish and light-up glasses!  It was a fun night!

The above photo shows Whitney and Joey’s sweet mamas hugging each other.  It’s rare that we see two families come together and blend as well as these two families did.  It was a joy to see both families love on each other and be so complimentary of the other family ALL day!  Their families will be a blessing to Whitney and Joey’s marriage!  They support their match so much that the parents even took a vow during the ceremony to support Whitney and Joey in their new walk together as husband and wife.

Whitney and Joey – THANK YOU for inviting us to document the first day of y’all’s marriage!  Y’all made  us feel so welcome all day and your family and friends are some of the best we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with – truly!  Y’all are so dearly loved – that was evident on your wedding day!  Congratulations on becoming husband and wife!
