Welcome
In honor of Mother’s Day, my sisters (all three of them) and I put together a mini-photo-shoot of my mom’s grandkids. If we were being honest, she loves them more than us, anyway. She gets to spoil them rotten, then send them home with their parents. Which, by the way, is also a huge perk of being their aunt! :D
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen a sneak peek of the field we shot in. I had scouted it out the week before as a semi-central location for the 4 of us to meet. And, yes, I’m so very blessed to have all of my sisters live in the North-Austin area, too. While I usually prefer to shoot in places that are personal to the family, we all knew my mother would prefer to have a more traditional portrait location. This is why we photographed the little ones in a bluebonnet field. This first shot is of an albino bluebonnet!
While our grandma did teach us enough to check for snakes BEFORE letting the kids lose in the bluebonnet field, it never crossed my mind to check for ants. Poor Dalton was up first and I put him directly in an ant bed. I may have just won Aunt-of-the-Year. We quickly figured it out and he doesn’t hate me for it. After that, it was a normal child photography session and it was all about catching real smiles before the kids could run too far, get tired or hot or hungry.
This next photo needs a caption of some sort, really. I’ll post it later today on Facebook, if you’d like to add your caption! Our original intention was to have a really cute shot printed out HUGE for my mom to put over her fireplace. Days after this shoot, my oldest sister discovered that my mom was planning on taking out her fireplace. In the end, we printed off a few individual shots of the grandkids and put them in a window-frame picture-frame for her.
Hope you loved it, Mom! Happy Mother’s day to you and all my beautiful sisters!
