I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
It’s not often that Dylan and I miss a holiday with our family, but we were I was terrified that we would get stuck in Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday traffic on our way to Weatherford (just West of Fort Worth) from Austin to celebrate Staci and Adam’s wedding at Clark Gardens. Haven’t you ever heard the horror stories about how it takes people 12 hours to get from Austin to Dallas, which is normally a 4 hour trip?!? Yea – that was NOT going to be happening to us on a wedding day. Even though we had to miss my family’s Thanksgiving festivities, we are lucky to have his grandparents live about an hour from their wedding venue and they were willing to let us visit them for a few days before we headed back home. So, we still had Pecan Pie – don’t worry! :D
Since we did arrive the day before the wedding, Dylan and I had a chance to walk through the beautiful wedding venue Staci had chosen for her wedding with her. This was such a unique opportunity! We normally walk the venue by ourselves on the big day, but to actually be toured around by the bride was such a treat! We loved Staci even more when she said “we just like to be outside, so anywhere you want to take us for photos is great with us!” We absolutely ADORE when our clients trust us to pick beautiful locations for their wedding portraits. It makes our jobs so much easier, since we’re just out to find beautiful light!
Staci and Adam, THANK YOU so much for trusting us to be your Clark Gardens Wedding Photographers! We know that this is a very important day for y’all and we consider it an honor to be chosen to document your wedding.
That cutie is Mr. Gage! He was the sweetest thing and kept wanting to share his funny videos with me!
Just after these next few photos with her mom were taken, Staci said “Quick! Get me an umbrella! It must be raining!” (which really means she was getting teary-eyed)
After tucking Staci safely away out of sight from guests, we headed over to the beautiful ceremony site at Clark Gardens and waited for their gorgeous sunset ceremony.
Even though it was pretty chilly on Friday, Adam and Staci stuck it out with me as I attempted to get a “creative” shot for them. Since we usually shoot during daylight hours, Dylan and I have never had a chance to play with Christmas lights or shaped bokeh before. Well, since we would be shooting in a a lit garden after dark, we attempted to put hearts in their photos and this is what we got:
While I don’t usually include very many reception photos, Staci told me her favorite part of the day was the dancing! So, I wanted to include these for her:
Staci and Adam, THANK YOU for including us in your wedding day celebration! We had a ton of fun with y’all and wish y’all a lifetime of happiness together!
