Welcome
Warning: this post has absolutely nothing to do with photography. Nothing.
Today, I took my two-year old nephew to the park. It’s quite a pretty park: with dinosaur statues, a wheel you can run on (with assistance from the handle bars, of course), slides galore, a baby zip line, and a lake. Ok, well, it may be more like a large pond, but the park calls it a lake, so I can, too. Of course, my nephew wants to go look at the lake, so we do. We sit on a very safe-looking bench to watch the ducks and hear this horrible squawking noise. ITS THE GEESE! They’re far enough away that I don’t think too much about it and continue to watch the ducks with my Nephew. As the squawking gets louder and closer, I realize the geese are headed right toward the bench, which I had ASSUMED to be free to sit in, as no one else was currently occupying it. The geese didn’t seem to concur with my philosophy of the free-to-sit-in-bench, as they started to CHARGE my poor nephew. One took the lead, put his beak close to the ground and is trying to full on stampede us on this bench! I swoop up my nephew, who still thinks the goose is a cute little thing he should be able to play with, like most small furry animals. The goose is quite seriously a foot away and I’m POSITIVE it is thinking about biting me in the ankle, so I drop my nephews back-pack and start swinging it as if it were a club from the cave-man days at this goose. Yes, all of the animal lovers out there, I, too, have animals in my heart and missed the goose (which was totally due to my lack of aim, b/c I would have liked to hit it). Although the cave-man club swing seemed to distract the goose from its biting mission, I still ran up the sidewalk backwards to make sure it wasn’t following me. To all the onlookers who thought this was hilarious, you are welcome. I’m so glad I was able to entertain you with my fear of Geese (and most birds, for that matter).
Happy Wednesday,
Mylah
