I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
Kristen and Josiah tied the knot this past weekend in Marble Falls. Despite some pretty big, last minute changes (including finding out that they had to change their wedding venue on Monday before their Saturday wedding), they chose to keep their chins up and remember that the most important thing of the day was marrying their best friend. If that happened, everything else would fall into place and make for their perfect day.
Josiah and Kristen opted for a first look to have a private moment to just the two of them. Josiah requested that he still wait for his beautiful bride at the end of the aisle that they would say “I do” at hours later.
One of my favorite moments of the day was when Josiah pulled Kristen in to say a prayer during their first look. While I could not hear what was being said, I know that these two put GOD first in every aspect of their lives and that prayer is THE BEST way to start off a marriage.
While their second preference to their wedding ceremony would have been outdoors, thunderstorms were threatening the entire day. With this, they decided to keep the ceremony indoors. That didn’t keep them from taking a few romantic portraits outside, though! Josiah even carried Kristen over the puddles and mud to make sure she was taken care of. It reminded me of Ephesians 5, where Paul talks about husbands loving their wives as their own bodies.
Another one of my favorite moments from this wedding was when Josiah pulled in his bride to dance with her during their wedding ceremony! This sweet moment made my heart smile!
My third favorite moment of their day (it’s ok to have that many, right?!?) is when Josiah and Kristen washed each other’s feet, just as Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. It really showed that these two intend to love, take care of, and serve each other throughout their marriage. It was also pretty cute when Kristen saw what socks Josiah chose to wear on their wedding day and her infectious giggles towards it.
Their officiant let Kristen know that she could finally kiss her groom! HA! This was also the first kiss they shared on their wedding day.
Immediately after that first kiss, Josiah swept Kristen up and ran out of the church! Kristen and Josiah, thank you so much for inviting Dylan and me to document the first day of the rest of your lives. We loved all the sweet, GOD-centered moments y’all shared on your wedding day.
