I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
A week ago, Wyatt and Stormy tied the knot at The Plantation House in Pflugerville, TX. This was such a special wedding for me for so many reasons. Firstly, I’ve been wanting to shoot at this house for years. When I was in middle school, the owners of this beautiful home and my family went to church together. We went to youth group festivities here, so it was really cool to be back as a photographer!
After Stormy was in her Essence of Australia gown, she came out to surprise her bridesmaids and flower girls, who are all related to her! Then, her dad snuck in for his first look of his baby girl in her wedding day attire! Luanna Clara Design did a FABULOUS job with Stormy’s florals! Just look as these gorgeous wedding bouquets!
The pin on Wyatt’s lapel belonged to his dad and was given to Wyatt by Stormy on their wedding day, as a way to keep his dad close to his heart on such a big day.
After they were pronounced man and wife, Wyatt and Stormy giggled the whole way down the aisle. At the end of their walk, I got the BIGGEST hugs from both of them!! It reaffirms, 100%, that you should REALLY like your wedding photographer and like having them around. My heart was so full in this moment and I’m so thankful that Dylan captured it! After this moment, I cried.
Stormy once told me that she wanted her wedding to be a little kid party. This reflects her and Wyatt’s fun personalities AND the love they have for their nieces and nephew!
We jumped in the limo to head down to the front entrance of The Plantation House. Speaking of limos, this may be the best time to tell you how I met Stormy (she is probably hiding her face in her hands laughing at this or yelling “NOOOOO!”). After we shot Tom and Olivia’s wedding in Georgetown, we were invited to their after party. A group of us all jumped into a limo together to head into downtown Austin. I somehow got seated next to Stormy, who had on some super cute heels! Well, the limo ride was super bumpy and, at one point, Stormy tried to balance the crazy-shaky ride. As she did so, she slammed her super cute, super HIGH heel right on the top of my foot and almost broke it! That foot had a bruise for nearly a month! That was the very first time we met. That night, Wyatt also asked me if we’d go to Hawaii to photograph the proposal… What happened with that Wyatt?!?! :D Four months later, Wyatt proposed to Stormy in Hawaii after winning a hula contest!
The brooch on the front of Stormy’s wedding bouquet belonged to her grandmother’s grandmother! I love when brides include heirloom pieces in their wedding day!
Don’t you just love Wyatt’s Wedding band?!? Stormy surprised him with it!
I absolutely ADORE the inside of the Plantation House’s Reception area! Plenty of beautiful, natural light and a white canopy filled with twinkle lights that look like a firework!
One of Stormy’s requirements for a wedding photographer was that she had to be able to see herself being friends with them. I do think this is important, but Stormy took it to the next level! When they wanted to talk about details and contracts, they invited us to their home for a steak dinner. After her bridal session, we went out for pizza and laughed over wine. When she and Wyatt were curious about pre-marital counseling, they asked Dylan and me. We hooked them up with the BEST people we could possibly think of! These two in the next photo are near to our hearts, as they are our friends from church. This is our preacher and his wife. They sat with Wyatt and Stormy week after week with open hearts to talk about anything and everything, but especially Jesus and the benefits of having a marriage strengthened by GOD’s love. That? That is more important than any photo I can capture for them. Thank you, Justin and Jennifer, for being willing to take these two on and for sharing the love of Christ. We love y’all even more for loving them!
Kids were given “wedding survival kits” that even the big kids enjoyed!
After the maid of honor and best man gave their toasts, Stormy’s mom surprised her! Wyatt had kept where they were going for the honeymoon secret for MONTHS! Stormy was asking anyone and everyone she thought *might* know where they were going to see if they would fold. No one did. At their wedding reception, under the twinkle light draped tent, Stormy’s mom gifted the newlyweds a 10-day trip all around Italy!
Instead of a groom’s cake, Wyatt had his new sister-in-law make banana pudding! This sister of Stormy’s and her husband is the reason the two met. Wyatt saw a co-worker’s (Stormy’s brother-in-law) Facebook page up that had a photo of Stormy up. He made a comment about her beauty and asked about her. Shortly after, the two had their first date!
These two are the reason Stormy and I met! Still just as cute as when we photographed their wedding almost two years ago!
This cutie was told that he’d get 10 dollars if he caught the garter, but no one claimed they told him that! The pictures don’t lie, so I finally figured it out! Shanna – I have a photo of you whispering in his hear just seconds before he caught (or was given) the garter! :D
Stormy’s “winter wonderland” dream finally came true! She and Wyatt exited through a snowstorm!Stormy and Wyatt, words cannot even begin to express how happy we are for y’all! We wish y’all the absolute best and cannot wait to hear all about your trip to Italy! Congratulations!
