I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
Shelby and Josiah had their Fall Wedding at Twisted Ranch in Bertram, TX. I loved all the natural elements the two included in their day. Their ranch wedding definitely had an organic feel to it: from the wedding invitation to the bouquets with Rosemary.
Shelby’s garter was made from her mother’s wedding dress! I love that she included a family heirloom in her wedding day details. Even the ring she wore was gifted to her by her mother. Shelby surprised her mother by wearing it!
Once Shelby had her finishing touches on, she walked outside of the barn to share her first look with her soon to be husband, Josiah! His reaction was what every girl dreams about: laughter and tears and hugs!
After their first look, they were able to move straight into romantic portraits!
Shelby’s bouquet was really quite fragrant, thanks to the Rosemary!
You know that I loved that the bridesmaids all wore cowboy boots with their dresses!
The groomsmen all looked great, too! Their mismatched shirts went together so well with their vest and jeans!
Yes, I kept three images in this post for Josiah’s reaction to seeing Shelby walking down the aisle! Even though he already saw her a few minutes prior to this moment, he was still overcome with emotion as she was escorted by her dad in front of their friends and family. It was touching!
This is quite possibly the shortest wedding ceremony Dylan and I have ever photographed! From Shelby’s dad giving her away to their first kiss as husband and wife, there was a grand total of 4 minutes. WHEW! It may have been quick, but tears and smiles were still abound!
During family photos, everyone related to Shelby and Josiah said a blessing over the newlyweds and their new marriage. The best way to start any new journey: with prayer!
While Shelby and Josiah snuck away for some “just married” portraits, their guests were invited to enjoy cocktails, s’mores, popcorn, and cotton candy! Shelby was most excited about the cotton candy!
Josiah could very well be the very first groom we’ve ever seen actually pet the male buffalo at Twisted Ranch. His name is Peaches.
After grabbing their dinner from Hat Creek Burgers, guests mingled inside the barn of Twisted Ranch.
Josiah’s dad collected the glass from his parent’s property! Not only was it vintage, but it was a unique piece of family history used in their wedding decor.
The tears and laughter didn’t stop at the ceremony! Three toasts were made in the newlyweds’ honor, which made guests roar with laughter AND grab tissues for their tears. All three were heartfelt.
Shelby’s aunt made their wedding cutting cake. Bluebonnet Cafe made the pies that the wedding guests enjoyed (instead of wedding cake). I’m pretty sure Bluebonnet Cafe was just named by Texas Monthly as one of the top ten places in Texas to get pies. That’s saying something and was a true treat for these lucky wedding guests!
After dinner was finished and sweet tooth cravings were satisfied, friends and family headed outside to dance the night away!
Shelby and Josiah left their wedding through a spray of lavender, which represents devotion and luck! We wish them the same, as well! Thank you so much for including us in your fall wedding! We enjoyed working with you both and ALL the laughter shared on your big day!
