I love when I have the opportunity to photograph my past wedding clients, again!  Bronson and Mariah were married in Mexico in 2019.  We went back to Mexico for their Akumal anniversary photos.  This time, we wanted more of a resort vibe with lots of tropical backgrounds.  Of course, we ended their anniversary photos on Akumal Beach, which is known for it’s Sea Turtle Sanctuary.

I tried to be more intentional with capturing scene-setting photos of all the tropical plants.  It’s making me want to open up a print shop so that everyone can enjoy these palm photos!  In the shop, I’d also have images from other travel sessions.  These would include San Fransisco, New York, Seattle, New Orleans, and Belize!

Since these two were married on the beach, there was no way we could miss taking some Akumal anniversary photos on the beach!  That golden hour light hit just right and we had the coastline all to ourselves!  It was wonderful!

Akumal Beach is known for it’s sea turtles!  You can find them easily while swimming!  We were told the best time to find them was between 6AM and 8AM, then again between 4PM and 6PM.  Just remember: certain sunscreens are bad for the turtles because they kill the reefs.  When you’re headed into the ocean, make sure you pick a “reef safe” sunscreen so you’re not harming the oceans and the creatures that call them home.
