Planning your dream Austin wedding? Before you book a band or try on a single dress, there’s one big decision that sets the tone for everything else: your venue. And while it needs to feel like you, it also needs to photograph beautifully. Because at the end of the day, the photos are what you’ll keep. All Austin Wedding Venues plays a huge part in how your photos turn out.
As a wedding photographer with over a decade of experience photographing weddings all over Austin and the Texas Hill Country, I’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, and what makes a gallery go from good to jaw-dropping. This guide features my top venue picks for stylish couples who want their photos to look elevated, natural, and true-to-color, all while having an incredible time and staying fully present.
When choosing a venue, it’s not just about the vibes or the view (though those help). The best Austin Wedding Venues for photography have:
Location: Jonestown, TX
Why I Love It: Think Tuscan villa meets Texas hilltop. Villa Antonia is perfect for couples who want timeless architecture, winding stone staircases, and European charm. The ceremony view is breathtaking and the light at sunset? Pure magic.
Pro tip: Plan extra time for portraits around the arches and balconies.
Location: Dripping Springs, TX
Why I Love It: Camp Lucy is Hill Country elegance at its best. With multiple ceremony and reception sites, luxury guest lodging, and all the wild beauty of Texas around you, it’s both beautiful and practical.
Pro tip: The stone archways are perfect for first looks or golden hour portraits.
Location: Johnson City, TX
Why I Love It: Minimal, modern, and connected to nature. Walden Retreats feels like a luxury escape with stunning views and design-forward glamping tents. It’s ideal for couples who want an intimate wedding without sacrificing style.
Pro tip: Book the safari style tents for a very unique wedding weekend.
Location: Dripping Springs, TX
Why I Love It: Classic Hill Country views without having to sacrifice air conditioning or polished indoor spaces, Canyonwood Ridge is a must-see. Just a short drive from Austin, this venue gives you the best of both worlds: an outdoor vibe and a completely indoor setup, perfect for unpredictable Texas weather.
The chapel is light-filled with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the surrounding oak trees. It’s clean, neutral, and naturally beautiful. That means your ceremony photos will feel effortless and timeless. The reception hall is just a short walk away and equally spacious, with exposed wood beams and room for dancing, florals, and candlelight.
Bonus: it’s private, secluded, and feels like a little Hill Country hideaway, but still close enough to the city for guests staying downtown.
Location: Austin, TX
Why I Love It: Classic, cozy, and a little bit Southern, Mattie’s at Green Pastures is ideal for smaller weddings or couples who want vintage charm. The giant oak trees, wraparound porch, and historic interiors make every photo feel like a story.
Pro tip: Schedule your portraits about an hour before sunset because you’ll lose light with all the trees.
Location: Horseshoe Bay, TX
Why I Love It: “Our guests are loving this mini-vacation” energy. Horseshoe Bay Resort offers lakeside views, lots of natural light, and that effortless onsite lodging with grounds transportation included.
Pro tip: The waterfront at sunset = photographers’ dream. Don’t miss it.
Location: New Braunfels, TX
Why I Love It: It’s rustic, but make it stylish. Camp Hideaway is a modern Hill Country dream with cabin lodging and plenty of space to spread out. Great for intimate weddings with a warm, personal feel. It also has a sister property in Fredericksburg.
Pro tip: Angle your ceremony so the trees are between you and the sun for the best light.
Location: Cedar Creek, TX
Why I Love It: From ceremony spots surrounded by trees to elegant indoor options, Lost Pines Resort has flexibility and flow. The lazy river and spa are fun bonuses for guests.
Pro tip: The walking paths around the resort make for romantic, tucked-away portrait spots.
Location: Lakeway, TX
Why I Love It: If you want water views without leaving Austin, Lakeway Resort is it. Clean, scenic, and easy to navigate, it’s a favorite for sunset ceremonies and couples who want a relaxed but elevated feel.
Pro tip: Make sure to sneak out for balcony portraits just after the sun dips.
Location: Lampasas, TX
Why I Love It: Approachable Country, but elevated. Hidden River Ranch offers wildlife in the distance, rolling fields, and a picture-perfect chapel. It’s a Texas dream with polished touches.
Pro tip: It can be a bit windy, so use the Chapel as your Plan A for the ceremony.
Location: Dripping Springs, TX
Why I Love It: French countryside meets Hill Country charm. Ma Maison is where European romance meets Texas hospitality. Think stone archways, ivy-covered walls, and that old-world elegance that makes everything feel a little extra dreamy. It’s a favorite among couples who want to feel like they’ve escaped to a French château without flying across the Atlantic.
This venue has a variety of ceremony sites to choose from, including a romantic open-air chapel and a breathtaking oak grove, both gorgeous in any season. The reception space is sophisticated without being stuffy, and feels like a blank canvas you can truly make your own.
Bonus: It has an indoor chapel for the days the weather just won’t cooperate.
Location: Round Rock, TX
Why I Love It: It’s classic and dreamy with creamy white columns and lush gardens. If you’re into historic elegance with a side of grandeur, Woodbine Mansion is for you.
Pro tip: The staircase is perfect for a dramatic dress moment.
Location: Georgetown, TX
Why I Love It: A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Georgetown. If you’re looking for a venue that mixes timeless charm with a modern twist, you’ll want to check out Wish Well House. Nestled in the historic district of Georgetown, this venue was originally a 1900s home that’s been thoughtfully reimagined as a modern event space, and it’s just so good.
The interiors are light-filled and airy, with whitewashed brick, original hardwoods, and large windows that photographers dream about. The courtyard and private garden spaces offer cozy nooks for portraits and cocktail hour, while the main ballroom has enough character that you don’t have to over-decorate (unless you want to).
This one is perfect for couples who want something different from the typical Hill Country look, but still want it to feel intimate, elevated, and guest-friendly.
Bonus: It’s walking distance to cute coffee shops and boutique hotels, making the weekend extra easy for out-of-towners.
Location: Manor, TX
Why I Love It: Vintage bones with a modern heart. The Grand Lady has editorial vibes all over it. It’s bright, clean, and full of well-designed moments.
Pro tip: Head to their garden at the back of the property for those surrounded in nature vibes.
Location: Austin, TX
Why I Love It: Effortlessly Austin, even it’s organic catering ideaology. Barr Mansion checks all the boxes. This iconic venue blends a restored Victorian mansion with a glass-walled ballroom and lush, organic gardens.
Barr Mansion is actually the nation’s first certified organic events facility, so couples who care about sustainability love it. Beyond that, the venue offers a truly unique blend of historic architecture and nature-forward design. The ceremony spaces are surrounded by green, the food is top-tier (yes, they cater onsite), and the whole place just feels peaceful.
Pro tip: Guests love the late night Pizza offered here.
Location: Austin, TX
Why I Love It: Feels like a weekend-long retreat. Lake Austin Spa Resort is nestled right on the water and surrounded by Texas Hill Country views, this venue is perfect for couples who want their wedding to feel more like a wellness-inspired getaway.
It’s a luxury spa first and foremost. Think: facials, massages, hot tubs, and garden-to-table meals. It’s ideal for an intimate guest list and a multi-day celebration. The ceremony spaces are peaceful and scenic, with the option to exchange vows overlooking the lake or in a lush, landscaped garden.
Bonus: Opt for the boat exit.
Location: Austin, TX
Why I Love It: The stunning bridal suite that feels like a styled shoot. Just 15 minutes from downtown Austin, The Addison Grove is where modern luxury meets timeless Hill Country elegance. Tall oak trees shade the ceremony space, while the reception barn offers soaring ceilings and an indoor-outdoor flow space. Your guests will love how easy it is to access, and they’ll be wowed by the lush surroundings and stylish indoor-outdoor flow. It’s ideal for couples who want a contemporary space that still feels grounded in nature. especially with golden hour portraits in the wildflower field out back.
Bonus: UT Fans love the onsite Longhorns.
Location: Canyon Lake, TX
Why I Love It: Floor to Ceiling windows in the Indoor Chapel. The Preserve at Canyon Lake is a serene, high-end wedding venue that combines modern design with 170 acres of wildlife preserve. The all-white reception hall is airy and elegant, with a clean design that lets your floral vision shine.
Bonus: It’s about halfway between Austin and San Antonio, for the perfect halfway point.

For peak season (Spring and Fall), plan to book 12–18 months in advance. Yes, really. The good ones go fast. However, you may get a great deal if you book a date that is quickly approaching.
Many of them do! Ma Maison, Canyonwood Ridge, and Horseshoe Bay all have beautiful indoor backup options. Always ask for specifics during your tour.
Most venues allow this, sometimes for a small fee. It’s 100% worth it, especially for bridals. Always check the policy when you book.
Honestly, it depends on your style. Want romance and architecture? Villa Antonia. Love clean and modern? Canyonwood Ridge. Prefer lakeside luxury? Horseshoe Bay. Pick the one that makes you feel most you.
Your guest count. This number will help determine which venue can comfortably fit all your guests.
