I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
Katie and Carter met in middle school. Before they were even dating, Katie said she was going to marry Carter. She was right! On Saturday, she and Carter said “I Do” at their gorgeous blush wedding at The Springs in Georgetown.
Fun fact: Katie and Carter’s moms BOTH had a part to play in the picking out of Katie’s engagement ring!
Katie gifted all of her bridesmaids these gorgeous earrings! Right after, she opened up a pair of her own – a gift from her groom.
I love that Katie was willing to step outside to get ready!
Katie shared a first look with her dad and you better believe there were tears!
This sweet moment between Katie and her grandmother is one of my all-time favorites! After their heartfelt hug, her grandmother helped Katie into her own wedding bands and engagement ring.
Katie and Carter opted for a first look. It’s a great chance to get some of those nerves out, enjoy the day with the one person you want to most, and puts you in the very best mood for romantic portraits! Since they did a first look, they’ll also have twice as many romantic portraits of just the two of them on their wedding day! It also gave them both a chance to truly react to seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day!
I think this is about the point where Carter said aloud “How lucky am I?” He was marrying his high school sweetheart on that day and they were becoming husband and wife. Katie and Carter have HUGE hearts! They’re both always making sure everyone feels included and make sure to express their gratitude. This moment was no different for them – always expressing love.
Since they did a first look, we were able to get all of their bridal party portraits in before the ceremony. That meant this beautiful group of people were able to catch up with friends and enjoy cocktail hour.
After the bridal party took their place at the ceremony, Carter had to help the sweet flower girl down the aisle. She did such a great job and wanted to make sure all of the flower petals made it out of her basket for Katie! It really was precious! In case you’re wondering if a first look hurts the walk down the aisle, the answer is absolutely not! Just look at Carter! He had already seen Katie, but he still had the best reaction to seeing her walk arm in arm with her father down the aisle.
Almost seven years in the making and they’re officially married!!!
Katie and Carter had a candlelight wedding reception filled with blush and gold details at The Springs in Georgetown.
This is one of my favorite shots of the day. Carter and Katie are saying a prayer over their new marriage on their wedding day. Putting GOD as the head of your marriage will get you way farther than you can on your own.
You may recognize these next two couples! They’re both #eurekabrides! It was actually just after Chris and Paige’s wedding at Horseshoe Bay Resort that I knew Carter was probably going to cry when he saw Katie on his wedding day. That’s because he told me that he knew Chris was crying when he saw Paige, because Carter was crying when he saw Paige. It’s so cool to watch the best of friends react and celebrate with each other!
Katie and Carter know how to throw a party! Not only did they have specialty cocktails, they also made sure to bring in a midnight snack for their guests. What-A-Burger made it happen and it was a huge hit!
Katie and Carter – y’all have been such a JOY to work with! I have loved every step of this process with y’all and am so glad we were the lucky ones to celebrate this day with y’all! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of the family for y’all’s Blush wedding at The Springs in Georgetown!
Much love,
Mylah Renae
