As a Canyonwood Ridge wedding photographer (and one of the venue’s preferred vendors, also recommended by their in-house planning team, Blue Events), I absolutely love documenting weddings at this stunning Dripping Springs venue. Katie and Jett’s celebration was everything couples dream of: joyful, faith-filled, and full of vibrant summer details. If you’re searching for inspiration or considering Canyonwood Ridge for your wedding day, their story will give you a beautiful look inside this Texas Hill Country wedding venue gem.
The bridal suite at Canyonwood Ridge was buzzing with excitement when I arrived. Taylor Swift was blasting, the energy was high, and Katie’s bridesmaids were twinning in matching pink-and-black polka dot pajamas with heart-shaped sunglasses that read “I Do Crew.” It was the ultimate hype squad moment before slipping into elegant pink bridesmaid dresses.
Katie, with her stunning curly hair, radiated joy the entire day. Jett matched her energy with his own curls and big smile! You could feel how much fun these two have together.
Their wedding weekend coincided with the Texas Floods, but Canyonwood Ridge’s indoor chapel was the ultimate blessing. Not only does the chapel provide relief from Texas July heat, but it’s also a dream ceremony space for rainy days. With tall windows and natural light, Katie and Jett still had a bright and airy setting for their vows. Even better? Jett’s dad officiated the ceremony, making it deeply personal and unforgettable. The Maid of Honor and Best Man also performed the job of flower girl, tossing petals as they walked down the aisle.
The floral design leaned into vibrant pinks, perfect for a summer wedding vibe. Against the neutral backdrop of Canyonwood Ridge, the colors popped in every photo. Their wedding party went all out with a confetti cannon during portraits, which made for some of the most joyful, celebratory shots.
Katie and Jett’s reception was a true party. Their DJ not only kept the dance floor packed but also sang live during the afternoon, which gave the evening a personal concert feel. And of course, Katie and Jett snuck in plenty of twirls and lifts on the dance floor, just like they did back when they first started dating.
Katie and Jett’s story began at Texas A&M, where fate brought them together. Jett’s roommate was none other than Katie’s brother! From there, their love grew with country dancing, twirls, and Jett’s signature move: picking Katie up mid-dance. Their relationship is rooted in faith and joy, and their wedding day reflected both beautifully.
If you’re considering a wedding at Canyonwood Ridge, here’s why couples like Katie and Jett love it:
As a wedding photographer who has photographed multiple weddings here, I can tell you Canyonwood Ridge checks every box for couples who want a stress-free, gorgeous, and guest-friendly venue. If you’re planning a wedding in Dripping Springs, I’d love to document your day! Let’s connect!
One of the perks of Canyonwood Ridge is its location. You’re close enough to Austin for convenience, but far enough out to feel surrounded by nature. Here’s a map so you can see exactly where this dreamy Hill Country venue sits.
Want even more inspiration? Check out another Canyonwood Ridge wedding I photographed here. Cassidy & Reid’s summer wedding at Canyonwood Ridge featured a heartfelt ceremony at the foot of the cross and timeless sage green details. Their celebration is a must-see for couples who love elegant Hill Country style.
Canyonwood Ridge is located in Dripping Springs, Texas, just a short drive from Austin. It’s tucked into the Texas Hill Country, making it a dreamy location for weddings with incredible views.
Its biggest perks are the indoor chapel, climate control (a lifesaver in Texas summers), and the blend of indoor and outdoor spaces. It’s versatile enough to handle rain, shine, or heat without sacrificing beauty.
Yes! Canyonwood Ridge has covered areas and beautiful indoor spaces that still photograph beautifully. Katie and Jett’s July wedding proves you’ll have stunning photos no matter the weather.
That’s up to you! In Katie and Jett’s case, Jett’s dad officiated, making it extra meaningful. The Knot Tyer, I Do Ceremonies, and Short and Sweet Weddings are also popular wedding officiants in Dripping Springs.
