I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
On Saturday, Maranda and Jared said “I do” in front of their closest friends and family. Sunday marked their 8 year dating anniversary and the first full day of their marriage. Their wedding was at Cathedral Oaks in Belton, Texas.
For Maranda’s “something borrowed”, she wore her mother’s wedding ring on her right hand.
Maranda had her grandmother’s brooch pinned to her burlap wrapped wedding bouquet as her “something old.”
There was so much joy in the bridal suite as Maranda and her girls were getting ready! It helped that all her bridesmaids were her cousins or sisters, so they’ve known each other since birth!
Just before heading down the aisle to vow her heart to Jared, Maranda was prayed over by her family.
How cute is this ring bearer trying to sneak a peek at the bride around Jared?
Even though the weather was in the 30s, the bridesmaids had said they’d brave the cold for Maranda, if that is what she wanted for her wedding photos. Since the trees were one of the main things that drew Maranda and Jared to their wedding venue, we headed outside. Their entire wedding party was an absolute blast! We loved our time with them!
Maranda and Jared had some super cute rustic details at their wedding! One wooden sign told their love story by date. One flip book had marriage advice from Maranda’s third graders. Vintage suitcases were set up to hold cards and gifts. Guests were treated with s’mores as a wedding gift. Everything about their day was so cute!
My favorite part of their details had to be the hot chocolate bar and coffee station! The weather was perfect for these!
Just before dinner started, Maranda and Jared’s bridal party prayed over them and their new marriage. Part of the wedding ceremony included having the bridal party vow to support the newlyweds in their marriage, as well. Anyone could see how loved these two are and how many lives they’ve touched! Even what they do for a living is to give back to the community. She’s a teacher and he’s a firefighter.
Jared’s mom gifted him this axe for his wedding day. It was the perfect utensil of choice to cut his groom’s cake, which was shaped like a firefighter’s helmet!
After the grand march, Maranda and Jared shared their first dance as husband and wife! This dance was 8 years in the making!
Maranda and Jared, thank you so much for inviting us to document this perfect day for y’all! We adored being y’all’s Cathedral Oaks Wedding Photography team and being there to celebrate with y’all and your families! Y’all made us feel more like family, so thank you!
