Whitney knew, and was loved by, Joey’s family before the two ever met.  She had gone to church with his sister in San Antonio for a while and the two became friends.  His parents would visit his sister and met Whitney.  They kept telling Whitney that she “had to meet” their son, as they thought the two would be a great match.  Whitney didn’t think much of it until she was visiting Houston, where he lived, to go to the rodeo.  They hit it off and eventually Joey started making the drive to San Antonio to visit Whitney instead of his sister.  I had the joy of taking their CW Ranch engagement photos last week in Boerne.  This is a peek at what was captured.

I love that the sunflowers were up for the CW Ranch engagement photos!  That yellow was a fun pop of color!

Joey proposed to Whitney over Memorial Day weekend.  There were flower petals leading from the door to the backyard when she got home.  Whitney’s first reaction was that her mom (who had supposedly come to pick up Whitney’s dog earlier in the day) must have brought her a plant and dropped some of the petals accidentally.  When she reached the backyard, she found Joey down on one knee (with her dog in the yard with him).  She knew he had been nervous for a while, but thought it was because he had just started a new job.  Her sister even told her not to expect a proposal that weekend.  That way, she wouldn’t be disappointed if it didn’t happen.  Whitney was caught off guard and Joey had to read his note for her after the fact, so they could both soak in every moment of the proposal!  Afterwards, they were able to celebrate with their families who were both in town for the holiday.

Whitney and Joey – thank you so much for meeting me last week for your CW Ranch engagement photos!  I had so much fun with y’all and am excited to celebrate y’all’s wedding here next year!
