Welcome
Lauren had a few different location options that she was loving for her engagement session with Ben. They all fell short, though, for one reason: she really wanted to include her giant fur baby in their pictures. So, she went with the location that made the most sense for including their horse, Apache. That location happened to be his home pasture in Elgin. Here’s a peek at some of my favorites from their Elgin, Texas engagement photos!
Meet Apache! He’s super cute, but did give us a little surprise during their session when he decided to untie himself from the fence and started to wander off. I was super impressed when Lauren walked him back to us while wearing heels!
When I first chatted with Lauren about their wedding, she shared their proposal story with me and I could not stop laughing! The way Lauren tells the story is super funny. She recalls not wanting to go out that night. Instead of showering and getting ready for their date with friends who were visiting from out of town, she took a nap. Admittedly, she was a little grumpy about going to eat BBQ in the middle of the Summer. On their way to dinner, they wanted to show their out of town friends one of the best views in Austin, Mount Bonnell. When they got there, she saw a sign set up that read “will you marry me?” and she literally ran away thinking they were about to ruin the moment for another couple. Little did she know, Ben had set the whole thing up for her! They have been together for 5 years and it didn’t cross her mind that the proposal was hers. The out of town friend was a photographer who came in that weekend to photograph the proposal! The dinner spot was “picked” so that they had to pass Mount Bonnell on the way. They actually had reservations elsewhere, but didn’t tell that to Lauren. Ben orchestrated everything so flawlessly!
Ben and Lauren – thank you so much for meeting me on Monday for your Elgin, Texas engagement photos! I had so much fun with y’all and getting to meet Apache! I can’t wait for your wedding day next Summer!
