Sarah and David’s engagement photos at Mattie’s in Austin is a new favorite session for me!  We waited over a year for bluebonnets, but Texas weather had other plans for us.  (Shout out to all the family, friends, vendors, past clients, fellow photographers, and venue owners who helped search for bluebonnets for this sweet couple.  Based on y’all’s texts with bluebonnet finds, we were about one week too early.) When we knew we were too early for bluebonnets and saw rain in the forecast on their session date, Sarah booked Mattie’s so that we had an indoor option in case of rain.  However, the day was beautiful with sunshine!  The peacocks even showed off for us!  Mattie’s is such a great location for them, since it is where their rehearsal dinner will be held.

One of the fabulous things about taking engagement photos at Mattie’s is the variety of backdrops you can have without actually moving locations. This covered porch would have provided enough coverage from the rain, if the weather forecast had stayed as predicted. Luckily, we had sunshine, but still used the porch because it’s just so pretty!

Lola Beauty did such a great job with Sarah’s hair and make-up!  I would never guess that she had been wearing this for several hours already.  It still looked so great!

Can we take a minute to appreciate their outfits?  I love that all three are in the same color family, so they’ll compliment each other no matter how they decide to pair them!

Sarah and David – thank you so much for making the drive into Austin last weekend for your engagement photos at Mattie’s!  I had an absolute blast with y’all and enjoyed exploring this gorgeous property with y’all! I can’t wait to celebrate y’all’s wedding day later this year!
