Ashley and Colin were friends before they started dating.  They were hiking with church friends at Pulpit Rock in Colorado when Colin got down on one knee and asked Ashley to spend the rest of their lives together.  She said yes and the two are planning a fall wedding at The Springs in Georgetown.  While they were in town for the holidays last week, we were able to shoot their engagement photos at McKinney Falls State Park in Austin, Texas.  I’m so glad they’re planning a destination wedding and came all the way from Colorado for these images!

Can I share a secret with you?  These next images almost did not happen!  We had already hugged our good-byes, but as we turned the corner of the parking lot, I saw this field of tall grass with PERFECT lighting!  Even though they were trying to make it to a cake testing (a fun part of wedding planning!!), they were willing to stay a little bit later with me.  I’m so thankful they hadn’t gotten bored of me yet! HA!  This is what happens when you give your photographer just a few more minutes!

Ashley and Colin, thank you so much for making the trip from Colorado to Texas for your engagement photos at McKinney Falls!  I really appreciate y’all taking time away from your families so that we could have an afternoon together!  Your session was so much fun and I can’t wait to see the two of you tie the knot next November!
