Welcome
Although she turned him down the first time Tommy asked Carly out on a date, he tried again and luck was on his side because this time, she said yes.
Even though it was drizzling all through their prep time (Carly’s all-time FAVORITE kind of weather), Carly let me take her dress outside to get a shot of it and I’m so glad she did! Although they had their reservations, at first, Tommy and Carly opted for a first look. It was a great opportunity to embrace each other and soak in the moment of the day!
A great big shout out to Wild Bunches for the GORGEOUS florals! I love the “fresh-picked” look of all the girls’ bouquets in autumn hues! Just perfect!
Rev. Lorelei Starbuck shared the proposal story during the ceremony. If you missed it: “His scavenger hunt was around the room on our 4 year anniversary of dating each other and it ended with Simba’s collar reading “Where do I army crawl?” (that’s an inside joke that we have in which Simba does this funny crawl under the bed). So I went to go look under the bed and there was a box…not a “ring box,” mind you, so it threw me off. Inside the box was my grandmothers necklace. I have worn it constantly since she passed away (my grandparents were a HUGE part of my life – they all helped raise me) and it had broken the month before and I was heart broken. I couldn’t wear my grandmother’s necklace now. Tommy had had the necklace fixed. Well I was immediately sold thinking this was the best engagement present ever!!! I pulled the necklace out to put it back on and there was the ring – attached to the end of it! :) He got down on one knee and proposed. :) He told me he knew how much my family meant to me and he wanted to include them in our proposal.”
This little ring-bearer may be my favorite of all time! He was such a handsome guy and may have tried to steal the show during the ceremony by “seconding” all the vows his parents made to one another. It was pretty cute!
The sun decided to come out just in time for portraits and it could not have been more perfect!
Carly is just the sweetest person, truly. After she fed the donkeys and the horse, she realized that the goat couldn’t fit the apple in it’s mouth. So, being so generous, she offered it her bouquet, saying “He’s hungry, too!” Oh, I just wanted to hug her! So precious!
But first, Let me take a selfie!! HA!
Carly’s bridal cake was the Lemon Rosemary cake from Chez Zee! YUMMY!
Simba’s song was played at the reception, so, of course, he had to be held up as if over the congregation of the Animal Kingdom in The Lion King!
Tommy has some pretty mad air guitar skills! It was AWESOME!
Their last dance of the night was Adam Sandler’s “I wanna grow old with you!”
Tommy and Carly, we had way too much fun at your wedding! Thank you for having us and trusting us to document the first day of your “to infinity and beyond!”
