I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
Cashea and Ford were friends for years before they decided to date. In fact, when people met them for the first time, they automatically thought the two were already dating (Cashea’s Matron of Honor, included)! It was a surprise for most people to learn that they were just friends. They were just friends until Cashea moved four hours north of Ford. That is when he realized, for the very first time, that she was more than just a friend to him and that he wanted her to be in his life. Forever.
One of the sweet things about Cashea and Ford’s letters to each other (and shows even more clearly just how in sync the two are with each other) is that they both started and ended their letters, that they wrote separately from each other, in the exact same way.
I absolutely ADORED their spring wedding colors! Fuchsia and Navy go so beautifully together!
The groomsmen were absolutely hysterical! They kept me laughing the entire time I photographed them (and they all loved winking at my handsome husband (but you had to be there))!
One of the great things about their sand ceremony was that they opted to include a third color with their sand. Most couples that get married include a color to represent the groom and another color to represent the bride. When poured together into one jar, the sand represents a blending of the two individuals and the merging of their lives into one. Cashea and Ford added a third color of sand, white. The white sand on top of their two blended colors was to represent GOD and the protection and blessing He covers their marriage with.
Immediately following the sand ceremony, the family and bridal party covered the couple with prayer. It was my favorite moment of their entire day!
This bridal party was a HOOT! I really did enjoy my time around this great group of folks!
Instead of the normal wedding favor (that guests don’t always keep), Cashea and Ford opted to give back to the community in a meaningful way. They made a donation to the Make a Wish Foundation in honor of their wedding guests. That gives you just a little peek into just how big their hearts truly are!
Since they both graduated from the University of Texas, the grooms’ cake was the UT tower. Cashea and Ford, thank you SO MUCH for inviting us to document the first day of your happily ever after! We truly enjoyed every minute that we spent at your wedding at Kindred Oaks!
