I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
Tara and Evan met while on vacation with their separate groups of friends. The two groups decided to meet up later and Evan immediately called “dibbs!” They later found out that Tara did the exact same thing among her group of gals. The two tied the knot this past Friday in Georgetown, Texas and we loved being their Kindred Oaks wedding photography team! Tara and Evan opted for a first look! It is a great opportunity to get the jitters out, love on one another, and truly soak in the importance of your wedding day.
Evan couldn’t hold back the emotions or tears when he saw Tara for the first time on their wedding day! It was a perfect moment!
These two dearly love to laugh! Tara was the picture of calmness on her wedding day! Even though the decorations were forgotten (they arrived eventually) the day of, nothing seemed to phase her. She was going to be marrying the love of her life that afternoon and everything else was just details.
Even though he had already seen his gorgeous bride, Evan was still overcome with emotion as Tara walked down the aisle on the elbow of her father. Evan wasn’t the only one to shed tears during this joyful ceremony – even if Tara “isn’t really a crier!” Everyone in attendance joined her in laughter when she said this aloud during the wedding ceremony at Kindred Oaks.
After family photos, we had 8 minutes to capture some “just married” portraits for Tara and Evan! It made me laugh when Evan told me he wanted “just one” photo to hang on his mantle! I think we gotcha covered, Evan!
There were yard games for their wedding guests to enjoy during cocktail hour at sunset. I think the giant Jenga set may have been a crowd favorite!
Their Matron of Honor and Best Man toasted the newlyweds just before the party got started.
Evan’s tears didn’t stop at the ceremony, either! He was still joyous to the point of tears during their first dance as husband and wife. Tara told me that they were expecting a party crowd and they did not disappoint! This group of friends partied well into the night and were invited to an evening of bar-hoping the next day so the party didn’t have to stop. It just took a breather! My favorite part was when Tara requested a special song just for her mama! “Tootsee Roll” was her song, for sure, and had everyone on the dance floor!
Tara and Evan – thank you SO MUCH for inviting us to be your Kindred Oaks wedding photography team! We enjoyed hanging out with y’all and your super fun bridal party! Y’all’s laid back spirit is our favorite! We hope y’all had the best wedding weekend EVER and wish y’all a lifetime of happiness together!
