Welcome
Ginnie was working at the jail as a booking officer when Matt walked in. She didn’t like his approach at what she considered “her space” so let him know to try again with a better attitude. The two did not get along at first (both are probably laughing at that right now as a huge understatement), but mutual friends/co-workers told them both that they would like each other if they were to give each other a second chance. Over time, they did learn to like each other and started dating.
Ginnie knew their relationship took a serious turn when Matt invited her over for dinner with his daughter. It was the first time she would meet his daughter, so she knew something had changed for the two of them. When she arrived, she sat down with his daughter coloring Scooby Doo while Matt cooked the ladies dinner. It was in that moment that they settled into a new pace and really opened up to one another.
After a first look with her dad, Ginnie’s girls got their first peek at her as a bride!
Ginnie and Matt opted for a first look. It was a great opportunity for the two of them to fully embrace their day and their future life together. After Ginnie tapped Matt on the shoulder, his cue to turn around to see her, he didn’t turn. He said he was too nervous and was going to cry. I love the fact that Matt doesn’t mind crying! Ginnie told me that he cried when their engagement photos arrived, so I knew it would be an emotional day!
Ginnie’s partner wasn’t able to make the wedding, so she carried his challenge coin in her bouquet.
Since they are both Law Enforcement Officers, it was only appropriate to take their photos at the Sheriff’s Office of Twisted Ranch which even holds a jail that is used as a photo booth. Then, we headed to the gun range!
Ginnie and Matt said their “I Dos” inside the Little White Chapel of Twisted Ranch.
Just before the walk down the aisle, Matt’s daughter was doing well. Then, she saw her dad cry. If you’re a girl who has ever seen her dad cry, you know if dad cries, you cry. For the rest of the ceremony, Matt was pretty emotional. So was his daughter. The groomsmen, Matt’s best guys, started a tissue train for his daughter to dry her tears. They passed tissues one by one to the front. It was pretty sweet and shows that they always step up to help one another!
The entire chapel laughed when Ginnie’s wedding vows started with “Matt, you have the right to remain silent!”
Immediately after the ceremony, this family hug happened! It’s one of my favorite shots of the day.
Guests were invited to enjoy the candy bar, wildlife, and gun range during cocktail hour.
Their navy wedding at Twisted Ranch included a reception in the Saloon.
This first dance as husband and wife is extra special for Matt and Ginnie. Matt was in a pretty bad car accident in January and was using a walker when I first met him. He was extra determined to heal from a shattered femur not only for his daughter, but so that he could dance with his wife on their wedding day. He did it!
After Ginnie’s dad’s toast to the bride and groom, he asked Matt’s permission to dance with his daughter one more time. Later in the night, her dad even sang their “last dance” song!
Instead of doing a traditional wedding cake, Matt and Ginnie opted for a Donut Bar! YUM! It was such a cute idea!
Ginnie and Matt, thank you so much for inviting us into this fun day! We loved being a part of y’all’s wedding and spending the day with y’all! Congratulations on becoming husband and wife!
