I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
I’ve been looking forward to Sarah and David’s wedding day for two years! They were referred to me by another one of my sweet couples, who also got married at Pecan Springs Ranch, so I knew we were going to be a great fit from the very beginning! They had originally planned to get married in November 2020, but changed plans after the pandemic. When they decided to move dates, they also secretly got married at Lake Tahoe. One year after becoming husband and wife, they threw the best celebration and revealed their secret to friends and family during the ceremony. Here are some of my favorites as their Pecan Springs Ranch wedding photographer.
After Sarah’s bridesmaids had their first look with her, it was time to bring her dad in. I love that her mom stayed in the room for this sweet moment, as well.
Sarah and David really wanted to enjoy the celebration with their guests, so they opted to include a first look on their wedding day at Pecan Springs Ranch. One of the many bonuses of including a first look is that we can take all the photos you’re hoping to before the ceremony! This allowed them to enjoy their own cocktail party!
When planning for their original wedding date, Sarah and David would have said “I do” at this fireplace. Since their date was moved to August and they wanted to move their ceremony inside, we took their portraits in front of the location they were so fond of.
After wedding party photos and family photos, everyone headed over to Smith Family Chapel for the wedding ceremony. Sarah shared that one of David’s favorite movies is Crazy Rich Asians. As a surprise to him, the aisle runner was a mirror that replicated the water reflections from that wedding scene. They also played Kina Grannis’s arrangement of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” (song from that scene). I love that they added personal touches every chance they could.
The officiant blessed their hands and wedding rings with water from Lake Tahoe, where they secretly eloped one year before.
Back at Pecan Springs Ranch, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the lawn. Their signature drink was a Basil French 75 called “The Buffy” after their beloved fur-baby. Sweet Buffy had passed away the week before their wedding and this was one of their ways of honoring her memory.
Yes, Sarah’s dress silhouette transformed for dancing and David enjoyed a reception outfit change, as well.
This is probably my favorite EVER wedding reception to photograph! I loved all the lush florals and the white draping. Everything about their Pecan Springs Ranch wedding reception was DREAMY!
Sarah and David snuck in to get a peek while I was photographing details, so of course I had to take a few photos of just the two of them before the party got started!
They practiced their first dance, too.
They threw an EPIC party! It went by way too fast because it was so fun! If you’re debating hiring a band for your wedding reception, just do it! Party Machine kept everyone on the dance floor all night!
I just adore these two so much! Everything about their day was joyful and energetic!
Sarah and David – words cannot express how grateful I am to have been the lucky one to be your Pecan Springs Ranch wedding photographer! If I could re-live your wedding day every weekend, I absolutely would! Y’all had the best spirits when things changed and just rolled through it all with grace. I absolutely adore the two of you and wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
All my best,
Mylah Renae
