I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
Nick and Kacey tied the knot at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Pflugerville, Texas.
It is VERY rare that I cry at weddings. Sometimes, I get choked up when the father walks his daughter down the aisle, as I remember what I felt being walked by my father down the aisle. This wedding, however, had me a little teary eyed during the getting ready portion of the day. Kacey’s dad clasped a pearl necklace on to his daughter and said that her grandmother would be proud of her wearing that necklace. It was a necklace that her grandfather had given her grandmother. The necklace that Kacey wore on her wedding day was one that honored not only her family, but the meaning and longevity of marriage. Something about this moment had the ENTIRE bridal suite teary.
I love when couples focus more on the marriage than the wedding and Nick and Kacey have their priorities straight. In her letter to Nick, Kacey wrote that the best marriage advice is to “Keep GOD close. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” I couldn’t agree more and am so happy these two have their eyes fixed on GOD’s plan.
I’m tellin’ ya: this was a JOYFUL, TEARFUL wedding ceremony.
I’m not sure how they were able to keep it together, but Nick and Kacey sang at their own wedding ceremony! They were also joined by family in singing praise to The Lord for the blessing of marriage.
Nick and Kacey’s wedding reception was held at The Rabb House in Round Rock, Texas.
You could really tell how important heritage and family is to Nick and Kacey. They honored their family by including them in the bridal party and by displaying photos of their loved ones as decorations at their wedding reception. More than that, you could tell just how THRILLED each of their families was to welcome the new addition! During their speeches, family members stated how much they prayed for this new couple to find each other and how blessed each family was to gain the new member!
As promised: I’m including this black/white shot of Kacey licking Nick’s nose. It may or may not have been a little pay back for him licking her ear at their engagement session in Shiner, TX (where they had their first date – at a wedding). Having fun together seems to come so naturally for these two! Nick and Kacey, thank you so much for including us in your wedding day! We enjoyed witnessing your love for each other, your family, and The Lord.
