I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
This past Saturday in Wimberley, Texas, Haley and Ethan became husband and wife. They had envisioned getting married under the Oak Tree in the Texas Hill Country and were determined to have an outdoor wedding ceremony, despite the rain that lasted into the afternoon. They love being outside, so nothing was going to stop them from vowing forever in GOD’s creation. Luckily, the rain let up just in time for the wedding ceremony at Kevin Fowler’s Rustic Ranch.
Ethan had left gifts for Haley throughout their wedding day. When she arrived to the bridal suite, she found another present with a sweet card and a flip-through card that had the lyrics to her favorite song written on it. The last line was written on the bottom of her boots, so she’d have it with her all day.
Haley got ready with her girls surrounding her in the Victorian Cottage Bridal Suite. Besides the Oak Lawn, this cottage was one of their favorite things about the venue.
After Haley had her finishing touches on, her girls prayed over her and her new marriage. Then, it was time for Haley’s dad to get his first peek at the bride! Cue all the tears!
Haley and Ethan opted for a first look. It’s a time to embrace the love of your life and TRULY and FREELY react to seeing them for the first time on your wedding day. Haley and Ethan were able to hug, kiss, and cry into each other’s shoulder. Even better, they were able to take a minute just for the two of them to stop and pray together on their wedding day. Fun fact: these two got engaged on Prayer Mountain.
After their first look, they were in the best spirits to take some romantic portraits.
These two are just stunning! I love that they can pull off the serious face just as easily as they call pull off a natural laugh!
Ethan asked his dad to be his best man on his wedding day.
Even though he had already seen her, Ethan still cried when Haley’s dad walked her down the aisle. Having a first look doesn’t take away from the walk, it is it’s own moment. An added memory. Another special time for you to look back on for decades to come.
After their wedding ceremony on the Oak Lawn at Rustic Ranch, we headed out to take a few “just married” portraits for the newlyweds. I just LOVE that Haley completely embraced the fact that she was only going to wear this dress once! She wasn’t afraid to get it a little dirty.
The first time Ethan kissed Haley, it was on her forehead.
Guests were invited into the barn for dinner and dancing. The tables were decorated with burlap and lace table runners, vintage frames with table numbers, and mix-matched China. The dessert table had wedding cake, donuts, and mini-pies. It was all super cute!
Haley and Ethan, thank you so much for inviting us in to document such a special day for the two of you! We absolutely adored being your Rustic Ranch wedding photographer! We’re so glad y’all were able to have the outdoor ceremony on the Oak Lawn, just like y’all had envisioned. We love that y’all were willing to be adventurous with us, even if it meant getting that beautiful wedding dress a bit dirty. Even more, we love that y’all covered this day and start of your marriage in prayer. Keeping GOD at the center of your marriage will keep y’all together.
