I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
Mike and Kyndra have been dating for one and a half decades. Yep! Half their lives, the other one has been by their side. These high school sweethearts tied the knot this past Saturday in her aunt’s backyard. We were honored to be their San Antonio wedding photographer.
Kyndra wore a family heirloom around her neck on her wedding day. Years ago, this was the same necklace that Kyndra’s grandmother wore when she was presented to the Queen of Scotland.
Mike and Kyndra opted for a first look. I remember when I first chatted with these two; they were on the fence about including one. Mike wanted to see his bride before anyone else, but Kyndra wanted to wait until the ceremony, as they both knew he would get emotional. It was such a sweet moment and I’m so glad they decided to include one on their wedding day. They were able to hug and kiss each other. The soon to be newlyweds were able to really take in the significance of the day. Lastly, they were able to cry and laugh together, with the one person they really wanted to spend time with on their wedding day. It was beautiful.
Mike gifted Kyndra a locket that belonged to his grandmother on their wedding day. Inside, he put a picture of Kyndra’s father, who couldn’t make the wedding because Heaven is just a little too far away. She tied the locket, and what may be their first family heirloom, around her bridal bouquet. On the back of the locket is inscribed “Flowers are Love’s Truest Language” – which was pretty cute to be tied around a bride’s bouquet on her wedding day.
Kyndra’s wedding dress was designed by Matthew Christopher. It was just perfect for her!
Another perk about including a first look into their wedding day was the ability to get most of their photos taken before the ceremony. This means that the entire bridal party, bride and groom included, were able to enjoy the cocktail hour at Mike and Kyndra’s wedding!
Dylan captured these sweet shots immediately following their wedding ceremony.
You would have never guessed this was Kyndra’s aunt’s backyard on this night. It was transformed into the most romantic, candlelit garden setting, perfect for dancing under the stars. What impressed me even more was that Kyndra planned this entire day while she was miles away in New York!
Kyndra and Mike, thank you so much for inviting us to be your San Antonio wedding photographer. We loved being there to celebrate with y’all! We’re so excited for y’all to start y’all’s relationship as man and wife, after 15 years of dating! Congratulations!
