Todd and Kyann met through a mutual friend.  She was a bridesmaid at a friend’s wedding and he was a guest.  The mother of the bride told him that she intended to set him up that night and she did!  She played match-maker for Todd and Kyann.  The two hit it off and are now engaged to be married!

They invited us up to the Pacific Northwest for their engagement session and I’m so glad!  We loved having an excuse to visit!  Here is a peek at their Seattle Engagement Photos!

Doesn’t this location look like it’s straight from a dream?!  Here in Texas, it’s already in the triple digits and Seattle was in the pleasant 70’s!  Everything up there is in bloom and so pretty!  On top of that, I’m glad Seattle showed off with a bit of sunshine!  There wasn’t a cloud in the sky when we took these Seattle engagement photos!

These two were so well dressed for their Seattle engagement photos!  I really wish every couple would get this fancy for portraits!  Kyann looked absolutely STUNNING in this gold sequin dress!  Todd looked dapper in his suit and tie! I think the pocket square and tie clip really stepped up the game!

I seriously felt like I stepped into Narnia with all these blooms!  Those Pacific rhododendrons behind them are actually the state flower of Washington!

I can’t tell you how many times I debated with myself about changing the timing of their Seattle engagement photos.  Usually, I start all sessions about an hour and a half before sunset to take full advantage of the beautiful light that happens during the last hour of daylight.  However, in Seattle, one would expect it to be cloudy and you can shoot there most of the day.  But, looking at these beautifully golden lit portraits sets my heart a flutter!  Seriously!  I’m loving the light and beautiful blooms in all of these and am so glad we timed it how we did!

These two have such a natural way about them.  They laugh easily together and you can tell they really enjoy being with one another.  They made having pictures taken look easy!

Todd did such a great job picking out Kyann’s engagement ring!!

Kyann – you are stunning!  I’m so glad you kept the sequin dress!  The blue tones in Todd’s suit really bring out your eyes!  Todd, obviously, thinks so, too!  Check out the image after this one to see what I mean!

Before leaving Tacoma’s Wright Park for some downtown shots, we headed up towards the Conservatory.

 I love that Todd and Kyann’s engagement session in Tacoma (just South of Seattle) included so many different backgrounds!  All of these images after the Conservatory were within walking distance from each other.

Todd and Kyann, thank you SO MUCH for inviting us up to Seattle and giving us a reason to visit!  We absolutely adored hanging out with the two of you and exploring the city that y’all live in!  We can’t wait to hang out with y’all, again, in just a few short weeks as y’all have a destination wedding in Austin!
