I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
While visiting Italy last summer, Zach and Ashley climbed up to El Castelo Doria. Once to the top, Ashley admired the gorgeous view of the Cinque Terre. When she turned back after taking a picture of the scenery, she found Zach down on one knee. He asked her to spend the rest of their lives together and she said yes. The two made it official and tied the knot this past Saturday. It was an honor and joy to be their Terrace Club Wedding Photographer.
Ashley’s bridesmaids gifted her a Kendra Scott bracelet that she had been admiring and wanting for her wedding day. After the sweet surprise, she hugged each and every one of her bridesmaids. You can tell Ashley has an attitude of gratitude and makes sure to tell those around her how appreciated they each are.
Ashley shared a first look with her dad. Then, he prayed over his family and the new one being created that day. He also put a sixpence in her shoe. It was the same sixpence that Ashley’s mom’s dad put in her shoe on her wedding day.
Ashley and Zach shared a first look on their wedding day. It’s a great way to make the day slow down and embrace the significance of what’s happening.
First looks also let couples get about 40% MORE romantic portraits of just the two of them! These photos, to me, are the most important ones of the wedding day.
This bridal party was FUN! I absolutely ADORE the bridesmaids’ dresses, too! They’re perfect!
The wedding officiant never showed up to the wedding, but that did not stop these two from having the perfect day! One of Zach’s groomsmen stepped up for them and officiated the ceremony. If you didn’t know that was not what they had originally planned, you would have NEVER known he wasn’t the one chosen for it. He did such a great job and the ceremony went on as planned.
Zach and Ashley’s moms wrote them letters and Zach and Ashley each wrote a letter to themselves. The 5 letters were sealed and are be to opened when they have their first fight or at their first anniversary, whichever comes first. I love the sentiment behind that and can only imagine what encouragement and love is contained in those letters.
This next one is probably my favorite!
Their Coral and Navy Blue wedding reception was held in the upstairs room of The Terrace Club.
Guests were able to read all about Ashley and Zach’s love story via the picture frames on the tables. They all had a different location that was significant to their relationship and explained the story behind it. It was such a cute idea!
Zach’s stepmom made the wedding cakes and did an awesome job!
Ashley’s dad toasted the newlyweds. He was impressed with Zach when he spent all of his time off of work, as a firefighter, with Ashley that he could that first week of dating. He was also impressed when Zach took the time to learn about Ashley’s grandfather, who was a firefighter, as well.
Full of surprises, the groomsmen came out wearing flight suits and serenaded Ashley on the middle of the dance floor. They recreated the scene from Top Gun and sang “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” at the top of their lungs! It was such a fun moment!
Ashley and Zach – thank you SO MUCH for inviting us to to be your Terrace Club Wedding Photographer! We had such a great time with y’all and your loved ones! We hope y’all enjoyed the rest of your party and have a blast on your honeymoon!
