We have a pretty special post for y’all, today!  The amazing onsite wedding day hair and make-up team at LUSTREbella has agreed to write a special guest blog post for all the brides planning a wedding in the Texas Hill Country.  Not only are these ladies’ laid-back personalities great to have in the bridal suite, but they have almost 30 years combined experience helping women all over Texas to look fabulous and feel confident.  Without further ado, here are the ladies from LUSTREbella, Tavia and Kerri:

Weddings, Hair, and Makeup… OH MY!

You’ve experienced the memorable proposal, set a date, and now the planning begins. There are so many details that go into planning a wedding no matter the size of YOUR BIG DAY! One of the biggest details of your wedding is being able to look back throughout the years and still love all of those details that took so much time to plan.

One of the most important things to decide is to hire a professional photographer and whether to pair it with a hair and makeup artist. Pairing these together will ensure that your photographs will be everything you dreamed.

We at LUSTREbella would love to share a few tips to help you if you are hiring a hair and makeup artist for your big day:

1. Always do a hair and makeup trial! This ensures you get exactly what you envisioned as well as making sure you and your stylist have a good rapport.  Extra bonus – schedule your trial with your bridal portraits to get the full preview!
2. Seriously urge your entire wedding party to get their hair and makeup done so that everyone is cohesive.
3. Go for airbrush makeup.  The wearing ability and look is incomparable to traditional makeup. Extra bonus- you don’t have to worry about touch ups [especially in the Texas heat].
4. It’s your day so make sure your stylist is using the best products available. Don’t be afraid to ask what they are using, it’s wearability, and if the companies are environmentally friendly. Extra tip- let your stylist know about allergies to products.
5. Lastly, choose a stylist that will come to you! Wherever you are getting ready, make sure it’s convenient for you as well as comfortable and stress free!

Thank you, ladies, for sharing those helpful tips!  I couldn’t agree more with y’all on ALL of those!  As a past bride, I remember my sister setting up a hair and make-up appointment for all of us girls for the day of the wedding (which I really appreciated her doing, as I was living out of town).  I cancelled my appointment when I found out I had to drive to Georgetown to meet with the stylist, THEN drive all the way to Kyle for my wedding.  It was a deal-breaker that the stylists didn’t come to my venue.  I didn’t want to have to worry about dealing with I-35 traffic on my wedding day and being late to my own ceremony.
