I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
After three years of dating, Josh woke Alura up early one morning. He told her she wasn’t going to work that day and drove her to the airport (he already had her bags packed), where St. Thomas was the final destination. He took her to H. Stern, where Alura got to pick out a piece of jewelry to remember the trip by. Little did she know, this wouldn’t be the ONLY piece of jewelry she would be leaving St. Thomas with. Soon after leaving the store, Josh took Alura to what he considers one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Magen’s Bay, to watch the sun set. As they were walking hand-in-hand, they stumbled upon a wine bottle in the sand. With that, she instantly knew what was happening and began to cry. Josh pulled the cork out, and read the letter hidden inside the bottle to Alura. At the end of the letter, Josh got down on one knee and asked Alura to marry him. She said yes! Just over a year later, on her grandparents’ wedding anniversary, Josh and Alura promised to love each other forever. Their Twisted Ranch wedding is one for the record books!
Once Alura was ready in her wedding day attire, the bridesmaids came in with giggles and tears! It was a sweet moment. Alura’s Maid of Honor made Alura’s garters and helped her into her veil.
Josh and Alura opted for a first look. It was held in the Little White Chapel of Twisted Ranch.
One of the big perks to having a first look (besides being able to actually hug on your beloved and telling them how happy you are that the day is FINALLY here!), is that you get more portraits!
When Alura’s grandfather saw her for the first time on her wedding day, he gave her a kiss on the cheek! He would later walk her down the aisle, where her future husband waited.
Josh’s boutonniere was made out of corks that came from his and Alura’s favorite winery, Spicewood Vineyards. This is where we took their engagement photos and is the bottle Josh had hidden in the sand during their proposal.
Alura’s entire bridal look was STUNNING! I seriously could have photographed her ALL DAY!
The two exchanged wedding gifts. The lure on Josh’s new fishing rod says “You are the catch of a lifetime.”
Not only did Josh give Alura diamond earrings on their wedding day, he drew this portrait of her! He had been keeping this talent secret, waiting for just this moment! Of course, tears happened.
Alura’s grandfather walked her down the aisle wearing his Stetson.
The two had a wine box ceremony. They each wrote a letter to each other to be opened on their 5 year wedding anniversary. Enclosed in the box was also their favorite wine and a wine key.
This is Dylan’s shot. I have to give him credit here.
I’m so thankful Josh and Alura made sure to include plenty of time for romantic portraits. To me, these are the most important shots of the day. The more time we have, the more locations we can include and the more creative we can get.
Two very special people were only able to attend their wedding celebration in spirit, as Heaven is just a little too far away.
In true Texas style, there was even a shooting range at this wedding!
Tears AND laughter filled all of the wedding toasts given in honor of the bride and groom. The Best Man gave a shout out to all the bridesmaids before confessing his undying Bromance with Josh. The Maid of Honor reminded Alura that a psychic had predicted Alura would marry the next man she met (who just happened to be Josh).
After cake was cut, guests transitioned into the Saloon, where they danced the night away.
Josh and Alura made sure to keep the surprises coming for guests! First up, everyone was given a shot of Fireball!
Second, they showed a slideshow of fun moments that they had shared with their bridal party!
Finally, they served up a “midnight” treat to make sure their guests had enough of a sugar rush to keep the party going all the way til Midnight!
Y’all! ALL THE FUN was had at this wedding!
Josh and Alura, Dylan and I absolutely ADORED being your Twisted Ranch wedding Photographers! Seriously! We want you both to know that when it comes time for your vow renewal, we’ll be the first to RSVP! We had a ton of fun spending the day with y’all and your family and friends! THANK YOU for allowing us to be a part of your celebration and love story!
XOXO,
Mylah Renae
