I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
Kelli and Benton had been dating for 3 years when he proposed. He surprised her with a double date horseback riding. Near the water, he dropped down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said yes and the two were married last month. It was a joy to be The Waters Point wedding photographer in Wimberley Texas for these two! I loved every minute with them!
Kelli had such a beautiful bridal style! I loved her dress, her shoes, the entire vibe! One of my favorite details was her necklace. Her father passed away, but still hand-picked this necklace for his daughter to wear on her wedding day. It was so sweet! He couldn’t make the wedding, but she kept him close to her heart with this necklace.
One of the reasons I love bringing a second photographer with me to weddings is to get a second angle on big moments. This first look with her bridesmaids is the perfect example of why having two photographers is so great. I was focusing on the bridesmaids, while my second photographer was focusing on Kelli.
Kelli and Benton opted for a first look on their wedding day at The Waters Point in Wimberley. If you’re new to wedding planning, a first look is where the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony. It allows them to fully react to seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day without an audience or spectators. Including a first look gets the wedding day started earlier, so everyone can get to the party faster. It also allows for us to take a ton of romantic portraits without making guests wait on us for dinner, so there’s no rushing through portraits. A first look allows couples a chance to hug, kiss, and talk to each other (which doesn’t usually happen at the ceremony).
Those just married vibes are always my favorite moments to photograph on a wedding day!
Green was totally their color! You can see it in the bridesmaids dresses, of course! Did you also catch it as the stone color for Kelli’s engagement ring and the band color in Benton’s wedding ring?
Kelli and Benton had a live painter at their wedding at The Waters Point in Wimberley. She painted their first dance. To the side of the dance floor, she included Kelli’s dad, so that he would always be a part of their day. It was a sweet tribute to him.
To end their celebration, fireworks lit up the night sky.
Kelli and Benton – thank you so much for allowing me to photograph y’all’s wedding! I had way too much fun with both of you!
