I'm Mylah, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, capturing timeless and intentional memories that celebrate marriage.
Welcome
While in high school, Kyle was a contestant in the Mr. HHS Pageant. One of his questions to answer was “Where do you see yourself in ten years?” Kyle’s answer was something close to happily married with children. Little did Kyle know that his future wife was sitting in the audience that night and heard his answer firsthand. Lindsey and Kyle made the first part of his answer a reality this past Saturday, as the two tied the knot at their lavender wedding at The Springs in Georgetown.
Once she was dressed for her wedding, Lindsey gifted her mom and mother in law a hankie to dry their happy tears.
It was an honor to step inside the groom’s suite at this wedding. Usually, I don’t go in there, as Dylan, my husband and second shooter, takes all the getting ready photos for the guys. However, I overheard the best man looking for all the groomsmen, so they could pray over Kyle before his wedding, and joined. It was a true blessing to witness this group of men share their words of encouragement with Kyle. They called him a boulder, a poem, and a shepherd, just to name a few. Then, the group prayed over Kyle and his new marriage. They shared memories and wisdom. Every single groomsmen had something to add. At the end of it, Kyle gathered his guys around him and when heads came back out of the circle, there were definitely a few tears streaming from the eyes of this group, who have been friends for a decade.
As the wedding party made their way down the aisle, every single groomsmen hugged Kyle. Then, they all slapped his butt for good measure.
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a bride walk down the aisle as quickly as Lindsey did! She was so excited to finally see Kyle and officially become his wife!
Lindsey’s sister was super emotional watching the way Kyle looked at Lindsey during their lavender wedding at The Springs in Georgetown. He honestly could not take his eyes off of his bride all day.
It was pretty cute to watch how Lindsey and Kyle prayed together, foreheads touching.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 states “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” To symbolize their desire to include GOD in their marriage and life, Lindsey and Kyle braided three cords together connected to a cross. One for each of them and one for GOD.
Almost four years in the making and they’re officially married!
All the groomsmen grew up together and would play football together. It only came natural for them to line up just like they used to. They also brought a football to the wedding that they all signed to commemorate the big day.
Lindsey and Kyle shared a pretty sweet first dance, with a few dips and twirls. This next shot is one of my favorites, as the newlyweds busted out laughing shortly after Kyle made a funny face at Lindsey over his shoulder. The two met at a dancehall and got engaged at that same dancehall about a year and a half later. With that, we knew their first dance would be a good one.
Not only did this group all go to high school together, they have also been friends for years!
You’ll recognize two other #eurekabrides and grooms in these next images! We actually met Lindsey and Kyle at Kelsey and Cody’s wedding at The Springs last year! Technically, we met Riley and Stefanie at that wedding, as well, but they weren’t engaged yet. It was so fun seeing all of them together to celebrate!
Kyle’s mom surprised him with a signed football to toss with the garter.
Would you believe that Lindsey made her exit dress?!?! It was so cute! She’s so talented! Another fun fact is that they played the Aggie war hymn as their last dance. It was special because Kyle drove to College Station (they were long distance dating until May, as he attended Texas State) to attend Midnight Yell, as a surprise to Lindsey. The tradition holds that at the end of Midnight Yell, you have to kiss your date. Well, his plan worked and Kyle kissed his future wife that night.
Lindsey and Kyle, thank you so much for inviting us to document your lavender wedding at The Springs in Georgetown! We had so much fun with y’all and really loved all the sentimental moments y’all included in your day!
