Fairy Tale Baby Shower

Right next to weddings, maternity sessions may be my favorite thing to photograph!  There is an anticipation – anxiously waiting on a baby.  There is a love story – only expanded to fit the new addition.  There is a family history – as everyone adds a member to their growing tribe.  Some of my FAVORITE elements from a wedding day condensed into a relaxed hour of portraits – my happy place during weddings!

This is my sweet friend, Livia.  She is a phenomenal hair and make-up artist in Austin, Texas and the mastermind behind All Dolled Up ATX!  She and her husband are expecting a baby girl ANY DAY now and Dylan and I could not be more excited for them!  I had the privilege of photographing her maternity session in December.  I absolutely ADORE the glow of pregnancy and Livia was rocking the glow!

The most memorable part of this maternity session was when I asked Colin to share with Livia the moment he knew he was going to marry her.  He didn’t hesitate with his answer and it had Livia, Nina (the rock-star stylist), and me all tear-y eyed!  I LOVE love.  Seriously.  It makes my heart go pitter-patter and is the reason I do what I do: to capture love stories and to show future generations that the love in their family DID exist and was a force to be reckoned with!  When couples share their stories with me and remind each other, with reckless abandon, of that love, tears happen.  You just can’t help it.  I think Colin may be a romantic and it was so great to see him interact with his bride in such a charming, compassionate, “I will love you to the end of my days” kind of way.

After the maternity session, Livia’s baby shower was held at Vintage Villas‘ Travis Room.  The Fairy Tale Baby Shower theme was perfect for the new princess they’re about to welcome!

How cute was that Fairy Tale Baby shower?!?!  Livia and Colin – I cannot wait to snuggle your sweet baby!  I know that she will be truly blessed to have y’all as parents and will be extremely loved!
