Katie and John met in high school. He was a lifeguard and she was a camp counselor at the same park.  They reconnected while both home from college and have been together for almost 6 years.  The two tied the knot last Sunday and it was such a joy to be their Kindred Oaks wedding photographer.

Katie’s parents lent her their wedding penny on her wedding day.  It served as her something borrowed and a “penny for her shoe.” It’s date is from the same year her parents got married and is the same penny her mom wore in her shoe on her wedding day.

After her mom had helped her into her wedding dress, it was time to bring Katie’s dad into the bridal suite for the daddy-daughter first look.  These sweet moments in the bridal suite are something that every bride should have.

Then, it was time for her bridesmaids to see her!  They had such a sweet reaction and there were some tears!

When Katie was 12 years old, she wrote a letter to the man she would marry one day.  She kept it all these years and gave it to John on their wedding day.

Katie’s family was so supportive of her the entire day.  This photo of her mom holding her veil so it didn’t blow away during the ceremony showcases that supportive spirit.

The first moments as husband and wife are always such sweet moments to document!

It’s so great to see my past couples with their growing family!  I had the joy of photographing this couple’s wedding in 2017 and now they have a sweet baby girl!  She did such a great job as flower girl!

I told them we could run to their reception…

but forgot to take them to the swing, so we stopped there during cocktail hour.
